Return once the subprocess is spawned or the start has failed.

Release the paused start and take ownership of the server.

Cancel and reap a start that no caller adopted.

Safe to call after adopt; an adopted server stays with its owner.

A start_server_and_get_agent call that spawns before the app loads.

The subprocess boots while the caller imports and paints the app. The start then pauses until adopt releases it, so the health check and its imports run only after the app hands over its own after_spawn gate.
